How to Succeed in Business is the result of reading an article in National Geographic about Michelangelo's commission to paint the Sistine chapel. Pius II hassled Michelangelo mercilessly, once hitting him with his cane, another time threatening to throw him off the scaffold. At the same time I was dealing with an obnoxious art consultant regarding a commission. I realized that through the centuries nothing had really changed. The pyramid of money with a crown represents the artist selling his soul to pay the bills. The hands from the Sistine are an homage to my inspirational comrade. The flames of hell call to the floating souls of the artists that have sold out to the almighty dollar. From the collection of Corky Stuckenbruck.
